Insightful information for Halifax MA residents to review to be informed about questionable behavior from local Town officials

Read Facebook comment by Selectman candidate David Mascio. Is this what you call leadership?
Do the townspeople really want Mr. Mascio as selectman if he is capable of comments like this? Calling residents "communists" is conduct unbecoming of a town official.

A "Nazi' reference Dave Mascio made on FB.  Another questionable comment from candidate Mascio. Is Mascio truly the 'best candidate' for selectman? Please see link to the Board of Selectman meeting video where 'this comment' was discussed. Listen for this despicable reference around 1:24 in the video. Below is the screenshot from Facebook of his comments.

If Gordon Andrews won the case against the Town of Halifax, why isn't that enough? He is now appealing his 'win'. Yes , that's right residents, he is appealing - this means even more legal bills to the town. Andrews wins in Land Court The Massachusetts Land Court ruled in favor of Andrews on all counts in a decision that came down on Aug. 23. Click to read the details

Board of Selectman Meetings - Scheduled vs, Actual Hosted Times

According to the Town of Halifax website, meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month at 7:30 pm. Despite this policy, most of the Selectman meetings for 2021 were improperly scheduled on alternative days and at inconvenient times, ranging from 9 am to 7:15 pm. Occasionally, multiple meetings were scheduled on the same day, and meetings were frequently canceled without notice. How are working and concerned citizens expected to advocate for their community under these conditions? How can any resident of Halifax actively participate and hold our officials accountable when its impossible to know when to attend a meeting? For 2021, this protocol was unprofessional and unacceptable and must be discontinued in 2022. Citizens deserve better.

Permits signed by James Perry

Click here to see the permits signed by Mr. Perry in the signature box for Municipal Building Inspector yet he was not qualified as a Building Inspector - although he was hired by the Selectman for the position.  Note the town had a qualified building inspector who had held the position for over 21 years that they did not rehire.

Zoning Board of Appeals

Town Meeting September 12, 2020  Day 1 Part 3

Town meeting where Gordon C. Andrews presents article asking the town to defund the law account. Eye opening! Is it really in the towns’ best interest to not defend itself? And there are four lawsuits!

Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) Meeting January 10, 2022

Zoning Board of Appeals meeting where Selectman Andrews threatens to report specific ZBA board members to Ethics Commission. Could this be retaliation as property his parents own was being investigated for possible zoning violations? Which, by the way, the ZBA did not initiate this investigation - zoning concerns were brought to their attention by a private party. Coincidentally the building inspector apparently found no violations.
